2025 Annual CWAJ Scholarship Awards
Guest Lecture: The Privileges of the Non-Disabled
Guest Speaker: Ririna Kaneko
Summary
In this 50th anniversary year of CWAJ’s continuous
support for people with vision impairment, it is meaningful for both
SVI scholars and CWAJ members to understand what awaits people
with disabilities once they enter society. At the same time, it is also
meaningful for non-disabled people to be aware of the privileges they
have, by knowing what kinds of difficulties the disabled face in their
lives.
Portfolio of Ririna Kaneko
Ririna graduated in 2019 from Sophia University Faculty of Liberal
Arts and is now working for Apple Japan, Inc. She is a distinguished
Toastmaster a TEDx speaker, and received Merit distinction on the
Vocational Graded Examinations (Intermediate) at the Royal Academy
of Dance (RAD) in the UK. Ririna was part of the Japanese Delegation
and an Executive Committee member of the Japan-America Student
Conference.
Please note that this will be a HYBRID meeting both ONLINE (Zoom) and IN PERSON at the FCCJ (Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan) located on the 5th floor of the Marunouchi Nijubashi Building
The IN PERSON event at the FCCJ will be from 11:30 to 14:00 with the ability to mingle until 15:00 JST (Doors will open at 11:00)
The ONLINE Zoom meeting will be from 11:30 to 12:40 JST
In-person tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend securing your spot as soon as possible!

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT
IN PERSON Attendance (RSVP by May 21st)
As of May 1st, 2025, all in-person tickets have currently been sold out. Any new registrants will be placed on the waitlist.
Please register as you normally would for a General Meeting; however, kindly note that this event will be held in a luncheon format. Lunch and drinks will be served following the meeting, so we ask that you select your preferred meal option (meat, fish, or vegetarian) during registration. The menu options are listed below for your reference:
